Egypt is such a good story, it's impossible to mess it up. The good news is that the NYT didn't, but the bad news is that the NYT was a little slow, and was still talking about Wednesday when I got up. By the time I read a bunch of different reports, I was finding out about tomorrow, but the NYT is still mucking around with today, Thursday.
The snowstorm is such a bad story that it's easy to mess it up, and again, the good news is that the NYT didn't. The storm wasn't obvious until morning, so the story only appears on the web. I can only wonder if tomorrow will bring any breathless prose about snow that has already started to melt.
The story about college freshmen is ugly because it's bullshit social science. That's OK since the NYT didn't do the survey, but they sure did play it up. As far as I'm concerned if you want to take/give prozac, go ahead, but don't claim some deeper historical or cultural significance.
