The World Outside

-- January 26, 2011

This morning, I took a quick look at Slashdot, where I found a reference to articles in Ad Age and the IT World web site about how  adverstisers can use your Facebook pictures and comments without compensation. This stuff really annoys me, but could I read it in the New York Times?

Nope. The gee whiz technology writers aren't keeping up with the tech news.

Instead I find these stories capsulized on the Today's Paper page:

A Region’s Unrest Scrambles U.S. Foreign Policy: In Tunisia, Egypt and Lebanon, the administration is grappling with volatile forces that have already realigned the region’s political landscape. OK, isn't grappling with foreign policy what the White House is supposed to do?

Evidence Elusive on Charge of a Blizzard Slowdown: The more that investigators look into a report of New York City workers deliberately staging a work slowdown after a blizzard, the more mystifying it becomes. Yes, there's a lot of other stuff we don't know, too.
